Official information has recently emerged that Disney is preparing the sixth part of Ice Age for release. Now Variety reports that the cartoon will be released on December 18, 2026. The studio had previously planned to release an untitled Star Wars movie on this date.
“Ice Age 6” is the continuation of the famous series set in the Ice Age 20 thousand years ago. Disney officially announced the cartoon on November 9, but its existence has been known since 2022.
According to Deadline, work on the new movie has already begun. Reprising their roles are Ray Romano (Manny), John Leguizamo (Sid), Queen Latifah (Ellie), Denis Leary (Diego) and Simon Pegg (Buck).
Let’s remember that the first cartoon of the series, about a mammoth, a sloth, a tiger and a squirrel hunting for acorns, was published in 2002. The last episode was published in 2016.
Previous parts of the series were released under the wing of the Blue Sky studio, but it was closed in 2021. Disney justified this decision by citing the costs of the pandemic.
