NME writes that handwritten lyrics by legendary punk band Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon will be sold at RR Auctions.
The lyrics of the band’s hit songs “Holidays In The Sun” and “Submission” are written on a piece of paper. Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten, wrote them in 1977 while working on the band’s only album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols.
According to the auction page, the lot is currently selling for $30,800 (more than 3 million rubles – Note ed.), but according to estimates, its maximum price can reach 80 thousand dollars (7.8 million rubles – Ed.). The tender will end on November 21.
There’s also the line “A cheap holiday in other people’s misery” at the top of the paper, probably added at the last minute.
Also going under the hammer will be a copy of the With The Beatles album signed by all four members, a signed copy of Queen’s A Night at the Opera, a custom Prince guitar and much more.
We previously wrote that a banana stuck to the wall would sell for a fabulous sum at a contemporary art auction. Read the details here.
