Handwritten lyrics by legendary punk band Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon are currently up for sale at RR Auctions, NME reported. Bidding for the lot has reached $30,800, according to the auction page, with estimates reaching $80,000 before the sale ends on November 21.
Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten, wrote the lyrics for the hit songs "Holidays In The Sun" and "Submission" on a piece of paper in 1977. He wrote them while working on the band's only album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols. The line "A cheap holiday in other people's misery" appears at the top of the paper, probably added at the last minute.
Other auction items
Several other music items are also going under the hammer at the auction. The items include a copy of the album With The Beatles signed by all four members, a signed copy of Queen's A Night at the Opera, a custom Prince guitar, and much more.
