James Gunn, head of the DC film studio, denied rumors that a series would be created about the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan. He announced this on his Threads* account.

“When I opened the app I saw everyone was asking this. No, this is absolutely not true. We didn’t discuss or even think about a Joker series. “I am very sorry,” said the director.
Gunn added that he was busy filming and couldn’t immediately refute the rumors. He also expressed his support for Matt Reeves’ idea for a series about the Condiment King, Batman’s comedic rival from the 1992 animated series.
The Batman sequel is scheduled to be released on October 2, 2026. Reeves, who will once again take on the role of director, previously said that there would be no fantastic villains in the sequel.

Meanwhile, the second episode of “Joker” starring Joaquin Phoenix premiered on October 4, 2024. Not everyone liked the movie: Director and producer Paul Schrader said he left 20 minutes after the show started. But the great Quentin Tarantino appreciated it.
