Ryan Reynolds admitted he’s “obsessed” with Marvel’s Channing Tatum’s Gambit. The actor talked about this in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Although the future of Gambit, played by Channing Tatum, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is uncertain, we now know that the studio is focusing all its attention on this character.
“I honestly don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors in meetings at Marvel, but I do know they’re obsessed with him (Tatum – Note ed.) in this role. This is similar to the situation I experienced. Once you show that it works, they have evidence that it needs improvement. Sometimes a studio just needs to see him in action,” Reynolds said.

To recap, Channing Tatum was set to play the card-throwing Cajun superhero in an independent film that was in development for years but was canceled in 2019. After five years, the actor finally managed to portray the character in the movie Deadpool and Wolverine.
