Police are continuing their investigation into the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne. Three people are currently charged in the case.

These include an unnamed friend of the artist, a hotel employee and an alleged distributor of illegal substances. The last two are accused of drug trafficking, while the singer’s alleged friend is accused of concealing information. La Nación writes that Payne allegedly did not inform his relatives that the use would resume, even though he knew this.

Police reportedly tried to contact the man as soon as Payne’s body was found. His lawyer later arrived to see if his friend was facing any charges. Liam’s so-called friend testified as a witness.

The judge later ruled that he had breached his duty of care to Payne. He now faces two to six years in prison.

The names of the other two suspects were not disclosed. TMZ previously reported that a hotel employee who may have been involved in supplying the celebrity with illegal substances was fired immediately following the tragedy.

Liam Payne’s body has already been brought home. This happened three weeks after his death.
