James Bond fans will have to wait more than five years for a new story to be released. The creators had problems with production and casting.
“The best-case scenario is for the new Bond film to hit cinemas at the end of 2026, five years after No Time to Die, if that changes,” a film insider told the Mirror.
The last film starring Daniel Craig was released in September 2021, and a year later, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli told Deadline that the film needed to be reconsidered. He then assumed that filming would begin within a few years. This deadline has already passed, but an actor for the main role has not yet been found, and Broccoli is already busy with a new project, to which he devotes all his time.
Without an official title, the new film is listed as in development on industry sites and has no confirmed lead actor, filming location or plot.
Previously, the name of the main contender for the role of James Bond was known. It was also reported that Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney will join the cast of the new Bond movie. There were also rumors that Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Assassins, Arrival) would take the director’s chair.
