Alina Zagitova is the most titled figure skater in the history of Russia, she became the second in the world who managed to collect gold in all major tournaments. The athlete, who announced that he temporarily retired from sports at the end of 2019, has not participated in competitions for almost five years. Alina gave a rare interview to Nadezhda Strelets, in which she talked about whether she plans to return to big sports, the cessation of communication with Evgenia Medvedeva and the alleged affair with Yegor Creed.
Nadezhda asked the figure skater if she could return to the big sport, since her return was often talked about. “I saw a slightly different life outside of figure skating. Sport is a certain mini-life that we all live, but there is also another life in which you can improve, try something new, face challenges, grow. “Everything suits me right now – I really like everything,” replied Alina.
The athlete also shared that he was almost 18 years old when his career was interrupted and he had already experienced a lot of psychological trauma: “I experienced a lot of depression, I became withdrawn, I did not share what I experienced with anyone. I was inside. “This mass, which was probably growing day by day, accumulated and exploded at some point.”
Alina said that she communicated with Evgenia Medvedeva during and after the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, but then they stopped for unknown reasons.
“We go through some kind of emotional swing with him. After the Olympics, we did not communicate for a long time. At the Olympic Games in Beijing we were not allowed to leave the hotel according to the rules. We were there for about two weeks, it was getting so boring… And Rita (Mamun – Note ed.) said let’s sit down and talk. And it seems like our relationship has improved. Then at some point in Moscow we talked again and it is not clear why there was no discussion. “I used to worry about it, but now I’m used to it,” the skater admitted.
Although Alina does not like to reveal the details of her personal life, she admitted that she is not currently in a relationship. The Olympic champion also refuted all the assumptions of fans who suspected that she and Yegor Creed had an affair: “This is just some kind of stuffing. He just called me (for my birthday – Note ed.).
