One Media YouTube channel has released a new trailer for the biographical film “Maria”, dedicated to the life of the outstanding opera singer Maria Callas. The film will be released in theaters on November 27 and will be available on Netflix on December 11.
In the video, Callas shares her feelings about the stage: “There is no life outside the stage.” Even though he lost his voice, he refuses to say goodbye to music and says, “Opera is my life.”
The main role in the film was played by Angelina Jolie. The film was directed by Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín, who had previously directed biopics about Princess Diana and Jacqueline Kennedy. Steven Knight (Spencer, Peaky Blinders) is responsible for the script. The film also stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Jolie has previously admitted that it took more than six months to prepare for her operatic roles in the film. “Everyone here knows I’m very nervous. I spent almost seven months preparing because when you work with Pablo you can’t let anything down. Most notably, it requires you to really work, really practice and rehearse,” he told Variety.
