Former One Direction singer Liam Payne has passed away. His body was found near a hotel in Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires.
The cause of death of the musician has not yet been announced. It is known that he fell from the third floor. Leading local newspapers La Nacion and Clarin, citing officials, reported that police were called to the hotel on an emergency call regarding an aggressive man who may have been under the influence of illegal substances and alcohol.
British-born Payne began his career in the music industry as a contestant on The X Factor in 2008 but was fired from the show.
He returned two years later and performed in a group consisting of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. They finished the show in third place and subsequently signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment.
