The legendary band filed a lawsuit against their record label Universal Music Group, claiming that the company deliberately withheld at least $200 million (more than 19 billion rubles). Note ed.) outstanding royalties, Variety reports.

The lawsuit alleges that despite the band’s growing popularity, UMG has failed to pay what it owes them. The group, led by Fred Durst, claims that the company never intended to pay them and “developed and implemented royalty calculation software and systems deliberately designed to conceal artists’ royalties and keep those profits for themselves.”
Limp Bizkit, who peaked in the late 1990s and early 2000s, claim they were not the only band to lose copyrights and that hundreds of other artists may have suffered similar fates. While Universal Music Group declined to comment on the case, the group’s legal representatives said the complaint was sufficient on its behalf.
Now Fred Durst is trying to get Limp Bizkit and his own Flawless Records to cancel their contracts with UMG. The group is suing for breach of contract, fraudulent concealment, copyright infringement and more.
Earlier, the lead singer of Limp Bizkit addressed his Russian fans. Read about it here.
