Russians warned about a new Trojan virus that spoofs notifications from banks

Scammers have launched a dangerous new virus to scam people out of money. According to Izvestia, this device imitates push notifications from banking applications.

First, the notification screen blocks, then fake messages about debiting begin to arrive. The victim then receives a call from a “bank employee” and mentions that his personal account has been hacked. It then forces the person to provide payment information or persuades them to transfer the money to a “secure account” under the guise of protecting the money.

According to experts, the virus can be caught through messages and e-mails containing phishing links. At the same time, the program does not give fraudsters full access to the device, so attackers call the victim and take advantage of his panic. You can get rid of the Trojan by resetting your phone to factory settings.
