The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have notably appeared on the BBC soap opera East Enders Thursday afternoon.
Ordinary people on the street were celebrating Her Majesty’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee when a royal couple showed up in the middle of their party.
Outside the Queen Vic pub, Charles and Camilla jumped out, got out of the car and were greeted by the pub owners, Mickey and Linda (actors Danny Dyer and Kelly Bright), who introduced them to the surprised Walford residents.
“It is a pleasure to be in the country,” Prince Charles told them.
The actor, who plays a local police officer, got into the spirit of the case, asking, “How do you keep this place in order?”
The Duchess met a young female character dressed as a Beefeater. “I love your set,” Camilla said before receiving the Trinidad Roman drama from veteran character Patrick Truman, played by Rudolf Walker. hThe same was then offered to the Prince of Wales, who said: “I thought you would never ask for it.”
Finally, the royal couple joined in the toast with all the other characters to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
With many of the more dramatic soap operas taking place in the pub, Queen Victoria and beyond Albert Square, the show has always been steeped in true history.
The Queen had already visited the show in 2001 when she met actress Barbara Windsor. The show also features British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who plays himself as Mayor of London.
