A new animated series will be shot about the adventures of the furry animal Cheburashka and his crocodile friend Gena. The Yellow, Black and White studio will release the reboot in 2025. The general producer of Soyuzmultfilm, Yulia Osetinskaya, told the Moscow City News Agency about this.
“In 2020, we released a New Year’s short film about Gena and Cheburashka called ‘The Secret of the Holiday’, which received high ratings from the audience, and we realized that it was definitely a series,” Osetinskaya said.
It is known that the project will be broadcast in 3D format and will have 50 episodes. He added that the new series “will have a warm, sincere and genuine spirit as classic cartoons.”
Osetinskaya explained that the plot of the future project will not intersect with the feature film about Cheburashka in 2023. In addition to the main characters, viewers will see other characters from the original Soviet cartoon. For example, it is known that they will re-educate the harmful old woman Shapoklyak.
