The Central Bank of Russia has issued commemorative coins dedicated to the cartoon “Hedgehog in the Fog.” The collection includes a three-ruble silver coin, as well as a nickel-plated steel coin and a 25-ruble copper-nickel coin with a color coating.

The coin series was called “Russian (Soviet) animation”. It includes about 40 skins depicting characters from various animation projects: “Smeshariki”, “Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf”, “Masha and the Bear”, “Umka”, “Well, Wait!”.

Let us also recall that “Hedgehog in the Fog” was shot by director Yuri Norshtein at the Soyuzmultfilm studio in 1975. The coin was timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the project. In 2003, at the international festival in Tokyo, “Hedgehog in the Fog” was recognized as the best cartoon of all time. The image of the main character not only sunk into the soul of every viewer, but also broke into memes.
