September 19th marks one year since the opening of the first physical art gallery in Russia, VS Gallery. On this day, the Symbiosis exhibition opened, featuring more than 30 works by residents: Kirill Reiva, Rinatto L’Bank (Rinat Abdrakhmanova), Danila Karamushkin and Yulia Nizamutdinova. Each shared their vision of the symbiosis of nature and technology, exploring how the latter can harmoniously integrate into the natural world and create entirely new forms of expression.
Kirill Rave invites viewers to immerse themselves in a space he calls “Digital Technological Place for Escape”, where water symbolizes infinite possibilities and changes. Visitors can watch as elegant and complex mathematical structures transform into fractal landscapes.
Water also plays an important role in the works of another gallery resident, Rinatto L’Bank (Rinat Abdrakhmanov). Its unique properties – distortion of light, refraction and image metamorphosis – open up new horizons for creating visual images.
The exhibition of works by Danila Karamushkin continues in the ceramics laboratory “Flowers”. These works symbolize the endless cycle of evolution, combining elements of both natural and artificial origin. Another work by Danila, Curly, is an exploration of the transition from digital to physical.
Let us remind you that VS Gallery opened on Malaya Ordynka on September 19, 2023. Since then, the gallery has implemented a number of important initiatives, in addition to exhibition projects at the venue. Works by resident artists Kirill Reiva and Rinatto L’Bank (Rinat Abdrakhmanov) were presented in the exhibition “Message” at the State Russian Museum, and works by Yulia Nizamutdinova in the exhibition “Journal of a Beautiful Life” at the Museum of Russian Impressionism.
