Oprah Winfrey paid a fortune to buy the rights to a documentary about her life, to be directed by Oscar winner Kevin Macdonald.
But the film isn’t destined to hit screens. After all, that’s exactly why the TV host made the deal. It’s not exactly known how much he’ll have to pay Apple+, but Page Six says it’s a seven-figure sum.
“Ms. Winfrey believes Kevin MacDonald is an incredibly talented director and is grateful for the time and energy he has devoted to the project. However, Oprah believes that now is not the right time for a documentary,” she said.
Apple has announced with great fanfare that Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald will be making a documentary about the media mogul-turned-talk show host in 2021. Recently, Oprah, 70, was photographed by paparazzi on the street. Fans immediately noticed obvious changes in the star’s figure.
