Musician Frank Ocean is preparing to direct a movie based on his own script. Now studio A24 and its subsidiary are negotiating with 2AM.

While discussing the film, he writes that filming could begin this fall and that they want to complete production before the end of 2022. No word yet on the plot of Ocean’s directorial debut. No official name has been released yet, but sources say the project is called Philly (“Philadelphia”).
Ocean had previously collaborated with A24: contributed to the compilation of Barry Jenkins’ “Moonlight” and its soundtrack was the soundtrack to Trey Edward Schultz’s movie “The Waves”. The musician also has experience in film production: In 2016, Ocean shot and released the video album Endless, for which he wrote the script.
