Monica Bellucci has recently become Tim Burton’s muse, so it was only a matter of time before she would star in his film. On September 5, the sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” opens in theaters, starring the actress as Dolores, the dead bride of the main antagonist, a bio-exorcist named Beetlejuice (played by Michael Keaton).

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Monica Bellucci said that the role in the black comedy was a breath of fresh air for her, because she had previously played the main character in Malena, Persephone in The Matrix and even just sexy beauties. She is already a James Bond girl, despite being over 50. She especially enjoyed playing with Michael Keaton.
“This role gave me the opportunity to step back and laugh at myself. Sometimes it’s really important. How can the dead live together? That remains to be seen. Beetlejuice’s fiancée Dolores also has a dark side. Their souls are connected. So are we. [с Майклом Китоном] “We did a really funny, heartfelt scene,” the actress shared.
The “Irreversible” star admitted that she has long been a fan of the first fairy tale film, “Beetlejuice,” and so she was pleased to see how her favorite characters have changed. Monica Bellucci also admitted that she was very impressed by the long-standing friendship between Tim Burton and Michael Keaton.
