Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are calling each other husband and wife, and while fans haven’t heard any hints of a romance, the stars have a special connection.
The truth is that Keanu and Winona got married in 1992, according to the plot of the movie “Dracula.” Ryder told Entertainment Weekly that they have been in touch ever since and jokingly call each other “wife.”

“I said, ‘Happy birthday, husband!’ He said, ‘Hey, wife! I love you! KR, 57.’ Every single day of her birthday she says, ‘KR, 57,’ or whatever age she is, and she always says it. She’s the best,” Winona told the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
But there’s only part of the joke in every joke. The actors have a real reason to be seen as husband and wife. “I swear, I think we’re married in real life. Francis Ford Coppola used a real Romanian priest for a scene in the movie. He performed the ceremony. So I guess we’re married,” Ryder told Entertainment Weekly in 2018.
When asked if Reeves actually said “I do” during the ceremony, he confirmed that. In the years that followed, the friends reunited for films like 2006’s “Darkness Scanner” and 2018’s “Destination Wedding.”
