Durov reportedly faces up to 10 years in prison for running an online platform for the purpose of conducting illegal transactions.

Let’s recall that on August 24, it became known that Telegram founder Pavel Durov was detained at a French airport. He was accused of refusing to cooperate in cyber and financial crimes in Telegram. Previously, the businessman faced up to 20 years in prison. Today, BFMTV reported that the billionaire was released from custody. The media wrote that “the investigating judge terminated his detention in police custody for the purpose of preliminary questioning and possible criminal charges.” The prosecutor’s office reported that the preliminary investigation into the Telegram case in France was launched in February 2024.
