The 6 most exciting shows from U’Fashion Fashion Week

Last Friday, the U’Fashion International Fashion Week ended in Yekaterinburg, which brought together almost all representatives of the domestic fashion industry: from stylists and bloggers to buyers and writers of Telegram channels. All of them came to meet with Russian and foreign designers (yes, brands from South Africa, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Belarus participated in the project), participate in discussions and public talks, and also demonstrate a few fashionable looks. By the way, we talked about the best of them in a separate article.

Despite the active daytime schedule, the most interesting things happened in the evening. And as you can imagine, we are talking about shows that are watched by hundreds of fashion-conscious people. Over the course of five days, we watched more than 10 shows by Russian and foreign designers, carefully examined hundreds of catwalk looks and prepared to make our decision.

Today, The Fashion Vibes’s fashion department has gathered the most spectacular shows from U’Fashion International Fashion Week that are definitely worth watching, to get to know the most promising “players” in the industry. Shall we start?

Fashion Week in Yekaterinburg was opened by the Russian brand Ruban. The show staged by Artem Krivda took place on the top floor of the Museum complex in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. And it was really impressive. Designer and co-founder of the brand Alisa Ruban presented the spring-summer 2024 collection, which included knitted suits, transparent skirts and trendy suede jackets. The brand’s accessories and fur slippers attracted special attention of the author of the material. But the main topic of discussion after the show was the models’ make-up. Glowing skin, wet styling and moisturizing effect on the body are the work of make-up artist Artem Lyalkin, who turned the models into fairies who had just emerged from the water.

Annúko is a young brand from Yekaterinburg. It appeared in 2021, but has already managed to win the love and respect of the fashion community. The Fall-Winter 2024 Collection show, held in the Youth Palace, once again proved that the aforementioned love and respect are more than deserved. Disruptive elements, sophisticated style and smart color combinations took the brand to a whole new level. If you try to describe the collections in simple words, you get something between Balenciaga and The Row, but with a Russian cultural code. By the way, special respect to the casting director – the models perfectly reflected the brand’s aesthetics.

Another bright show of International Fashion Week is U’Fashion – You Wanna x Rushev. Brand teams came together to present their new collections on the catwalk. You want to show off new patent trench coats, fringed leather coats, distressed jeans, plaid shirts and silhouette dresses. But Gosha Rushev, founder of the Rushev brand, added bold necklaces, huge earrings and voluminous bracelets to all of the above. Spoiler: after the show I wanted to buy everything.

Transparent products have been at the top of the fashion Olympus for several seasons in a row. As if the design studio specifically invites us to dress up while undressing. This principle is supported by the Moscow brand Gooroo, whose show took place last Thursday at the Sinara Center. Models walked on the fictional catwalk in transparent dresses, cycling shorts and bras, silk slips and shirts, formal suits with bare bodies and dresses with slits. By the way, I would like to note that I have special respect for the stylists of the show. At first glance, simple and elementary things looked unusual precisely because of the interesting style. For example, the Gooroo team recommends wearing a transparent bra over the dress. And we will definitely pay attention to this technique.

House of Leo is a brand originally from St. Petersburg, and this is felt in every detail. Designer Leonid Alekseev rethinks men’s fashion by combining eras, wardrobes and modern forms. At the show at the “Domna” creative cluster last Friday, we saw classic suits, shirts with pointed collars and extremely long cuffs, brooches with flower-shaped accents, embroidered jumpsuits, kimonos and suit vests (which the models wore on their bare bodies).

The show of the Murmansk brand Gapanovich turned out to be the most theatrical. The team, who specially prepared a black and white mini-film for the fashion week, included the fairy tale “The Tsar’s Daughter” instead of classical musical accompaniment. By the way, that’s exactly what the brand’s collection was called. So the models literally glided down the catwalk in fantastic snow-white images, reminiscent of what we see in children’s fairy tales.
