Director Tim Burton seems to have endless ideas for new movies, but Hollywood’s primary dark storyteller has run out.
Burton was set to retire after directing the film version of Dumbo in 2019. The 65-year-old veteran spoke about this in an interview with Variety.

“I honestly didn’t really know what I was going to do after Dumbo. I actually thought it might be the end. I might retire,” Burton said.
The pandemic helped the director to start over again. After that, projects emerged that gave him new ideas. Working on the films “Wednesday” and “Beetlejuice” helped him reach a new level of creativity.
Perhaps Tim Burton was helped by his new girlfriend. He became noticeably happier after he began a relationship with the famous Monica Bellucci.
