Rupert Sanders, director of The Crow remake, is so scared of the worst outcome that he has banned the use of real weapons on set.
In an interview with Variety , the director said safety is his number one priority, explaining that even a simple walk on set can result in serious injury.
“I said categorically, ‘We’re not using any weapons on set.’ We didn’t have any weapons that could hold blanks or live ammunition,” Sanders said.

It was completely forbidden to fire weapons. Instead, the actors used airsoft guns or dummies. The fact is that during the filming of the original 1994 film The Crow, a tragedy occurred. The actor shot and killed 28-year-old Brandon Lee, the son of the famous Bruce Lee, who played the leading role in the film.

Bill Skarsgård replaces Lee in the remake. The new “Crow” will have its world premiere on August 23, 30 years after the original film was released.
