How was the closing ceremony of the III. International “Sixth One” Festival?

The III International Film Festival of First Films of the Eurasian Continent “The Sixth One” has ended. The closing ceremony took place in the Yekaterinburg Cinema House.

The event began with welcoming remarks and summing up. Deputy Minister of Culture of the Sverdlovsk Region Yulia Prytkova addressed the organizers from the stage. Program director of the show Egor Moskvitin and curator of the non-fiction film program Maria Gottlieb thanked the guests for the show, which sold out in all screenings.

The hosts of the evening, Konstantin Statsky and Anna Izyumenko, announced the winners of the main competition according to the jury. By the way, Statsky also received an award. Other participants of the festival also received their awards: producer, director Tom Weller, actor Mikhail Troynik, member of the Casting Directors Guild Maria Gogotova, director Yuri Dorokhin, general producer of the Regional Cinema Support Fund of the Cinematographers Guild, director Ella Tukhareli and editor Konstantin Larionov.

The award for “Best First National Film” was given to director Ilya Mikheev for the film “110” (Russia). Artem Gryanik won the first place in the category “Best First National Non-Fiction Film” for the film “My Friend – Sega” (Russia).

The award in the category of “Best First Foreign Play” went to Farshad Hashemi (Czech Republic/Iran/Germany) for “Me, Mary, the Children and 26 Others.” The award for “Best First Foreign Film (Non-Fiction)” went to “Requiem for a Tribe” by Marjan Khosravi (Iran). The winner of the category of “Best First Film of the Festival” went to director and screenwriter Anna Veselova (screenplay for “Whatever It Takes”).

The “Grand Prize” of the game competition was awarded to the film “City of the Wind” by Lkhagvadulama Purev-Ochir (Mongolia), and the “Grand Prize” of the non-fiction competition was awarded to “The Secret of the Name” by Narges Kalhor (Germany). Alexander Krasnovsky won the category “Best Cinematography in a Feature Film” for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (Russia). Maxim Zazulin won the category “Best Cinematography in a Non-Fiction Film” for “My Friend Sega” (Russia).

The winner of the Best Director category was Jigmi Trinley for the film One of Four (Tibet). “Cinema that makes us better” – “The Three of Us” by Henia Brodbecker (Israel). Winner of the award in the category “For Aesthetics” – “Edge of Night” by Andrey Natotsinsky (Russia). The “Audience Award” was given to the film “UDI: Dancing in the Dark” by Maxim Bashorin (Russia). The award for “Best Acting Ensemble” was given to the cast of the project “78 Days”.

After the winners were announced, screenwriter Savva Minaev presented the closing film “Red” about the poet of two eras, Yekaterinburg native Boris Ryzhy. The anti-biopic was directed by Semyon Serzin.

Among the guests of the ceremony: General Director of the Sverdlovsk Film Studio Viktor Shadrin, President of the Sixth Festival, director Evgeny Grigoriev, Egor Koreshkov, Andrey Zolotarev, Daria Kharchenko, Lexus joker (Alexey Stolyarov) and others.

The festival was held in Yekaterinburg from August 2 to August 7. In addition to the capital of the Urals, performances were held in three more cities: Verkhny Tagil, Pervouralsk, Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The exhibition featured paintings from Europe and Asia.
