Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., said that while he was being taken to the police station, law enforcement allowed an intoxicated woman to calmly get behind the wheel, TMZ reported.
The woman who was driving was traveling with her husband and offered to take Justin home so he could sleep. However, they were rejected and the singer was arrested. He later offered to take the artist’s rented car to his house and got approval. Timberlake’s lawyer insists that the woman had come to the same bar with Justin two hours earlier and had been drinking alcohol.
On June 18, the singer was arrested for driving under the influence. The incident occurred in the Hamptons, where the artist was vacationing with friends. He left the bar behind the wheel, drawing the attention of the police. At a hearing on July 26, Justin Timberlake’s attorney failed to get the charges dropped. The artist’s next hearing is scheduled for August 2.
