The 60-year-old artist was literally forced to flee his own show at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire after a fight broke out between his assistants and overzealous fans. Russell Crowe finished performing with his band The Gentlemen Barbers and stepped outside to meet the fans who had gathered to greet him. But it didn’t end well.

The truth is that the Gladiator star’s promoter got into an argument with the excited audience, so the actor had to return to the venue. An eyewitness told The Sun that the celebrity’s assistant “shouted at a few people for pushing” and then realised that one of the fans was filming the entire fight. The promoter grabbed his phone and ran down the street with the device, which caused the fan to chase him and knock him to the ground.
The eyewitness added: “Russell was absolutely horrified by what had happened and raced back into the hall. The promoter looked quite exhausted but no one had much sympathy for him as he was being a bit aggressive. If he had kept his cool while asking people not to push him, none of this would have happened. Russell never came out again,” the eyewitness said.
It is alleged that “four police cars” arrived at the scene and began questioning those involved in the shooting. No arrests were made, according to the Daily Mail.
Russell Crowe has previously criticized the script of the Gladiator movie. Read about it here.
