Harvey Weinstein is back in the hospital. The disgraced 72-year-old producer has contracted coronavirus again.
As lawyers prepare for a new pre-trial hearing for the producer, he has been battling multiple ailments. “Weinstein was returned to the prison unit at Bellevue Hospital to receive treatment for a number of conditions from which he still suffers on a daily basis. These include diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, fluid in the heart and lungs, and many more,” his lawyers told Deadline today.
Recall that Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison in 2020 for two crimes: rape in 2013 and forced oral sex in 2006. Later, in February 2023, he was sentenced to another 16 years in prison for raping actress Jane Doe. Therefore, despite the review of the case, the producer remains in custody. The sentence was overturned in the spring.
