Not all guidelines should be taken literally. The author of the book “Write, Cut” Maxim Ilyakhov filed a lawsuit against the company that shortened his book for 9 million rubles. The writer’s lawyer Alexey Bashuk told about this on his Telegram channel.

The lawsuit over the theft of intellectual property (which actually reached the Supreme Court) dragged on for several years, and in the end Ilyakhov managed to win the case.
The whole point lies in a short retelling of the book, which, as it turned out, was created by a group of people who created a completely illegal business. Maxim found out about the successfully sold retelling by accident. One of the readers wrote a review, saying that the book was too small (and by the way, it consisted of 400 pages), then, having learned unexpected details, he began to look for the reason.
