An incredible story with a happy ending has taken place in Scotland, where Jobby the parrot flew away from his owner. Sky News reports that the furry fugitive was found in a maternity ward 5 miles from his home.

Apsi Vitana’s owner had taken the bird out for walks several times, but Jobby had never escaped from him before. He was playing a gig with his band in North Ayrshire when the parrot escaped while unloading equipment – “for a hot weekend”, as it turned out.
“He just ran away,” the girl shared. The girl and her friend then started putting up posters and posting articles about the missing parrot. She had already lost hope when she was told late in the evening that Jobby was in the waiting room of the maternity hospital.
According to the nurse and patient, the parrot appeared happy and relaxed. He enjoyed playing, putting on make-up and eating chips. 40 hours after he went missing, Jobby returned home in good spirits. “He had a crazy weekend and now he just says, ‘I need to rest,'” Jobbie’s owner said.
