Disney has stopped sales of its annual Magic Key membership program and this summer is offering California residents a new three-day ticket to Disneyland and California Adventure, park officials say.
When the park launched the Magic Key program last August, according to Disneyland, it was a sign that “you are part of a community of big Disneyland fans who share a passion and love for parks.”
There are four levels of the Magic Key pass, ranging from $ 399 to $ 1,399 per year. The $ 1,399 Dream Keys and $ 949 Believe Keys sold out late last year, and as of Tuesday, the $ 649 Enchant Keys and $ 399 Imagine Keys were no longer available.
Disney officials said the show offered more choice and flexibility and required guests to book Disneyland and California adventures, but some fans believed Disney falsely advertised its show at the highest level with no “blackout dates” . Buyers said they have difficulty making reservations due to the limited number of reservations available to queue owners. As a result, a lawsuit was filed against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts last year.
The lawsuit alleges that the Disneyland theme park treated “magic key” holders as “second-class ticket holders, artificially limiting magic key bookings and the number of key holders who could be visited at any given time.” “.
Disneyland spokesperson Liz Jaeger responded to the lawsuit saying, “We clearly understand the terms of the Magic Key product and know that many of our guests appreciate the experience this enables.” She added: “We will vigorously defend our position when we look into the case.”
In fact, the Disneyland website is a no-warranty disclaimer.
Current owners of the magic key can still use it to book their pass, and park officials said they would be allowed to renew the pass, although further details were not immediately available.
The Magic Key program replaced the popular annual park pass program, which was abolished in January 2021, in part as a means of limiting the daily crowds during a coronavirus pandemic.
New three-day tickets start at $ 249 for admission Monday through Thursday or $ 299 for any day, including weekends.
A three-day “Park Bunker” ticket, which allows visitors to move between parks, can be purchased with any package for an additional $ 60.
Three-day ticket purchases are available starting Tuesday and can be redeemed on all three eligible days, June 13, 2022 – September 15, 2022, subject to park reservation availability.
Day tickets are still available at varying prices and are subject to departure dates.
