We don’t talk enough about these important social debates like the type of socks you choose to wear. You wouldn’t suspect it, but the height of these would give an indication of our age. On social networks and in particular on Tiktok, the sock war is intergenerational. Lately we can see many videos that explain it Millennials and Generation Z everyone has their favorite shape.
Recall that Millennials were born between the early 1980s and the late 1990s. They are therefore young people of 25 years of age and people, like me, of 41 years of age or older. As for the famous Gen Z, these are those born between 1997 and 2010.
Short or tall, what your socks say about your age
According to Tiktok, Millennials are fans of short socksthose that stop below the ankle and just go beyond the sneakers. This generation grew up with their ankles in the air come rain or shine. And if by mistake we only had one high pair in our possession, then we wore them, but tried to lower them as much as possible, even if it meant folding them under the foot (see video below). The target? Let’s see it as little as possible.
@phoebe_fitish Gen Z will never understand the discomfort of our millennial DIY ankle socks and how many blisters we are constantly left with #millennialsoftiktok #millenialvsgenz #crewsocks #anklesocks

Generation Z doesn't see life that way. Young people today wear high socksas if they were an accessory in its own right, an element that makes up the look. But the fight doesn't stop at the ankles. It is also the choice of sock that is the subject of debate between the two generations. Generation Z prefers those intended for sportsmen, very thick, all white, possibly with a logo or two side stripes, while the older ones opt for thinner and more discreet models.
@phoebe_fitish The feeling you get as a Millennial when you wear a pair of short socks instead of ankle socks #millennial #millenialvsgenz
