Shooting has begun for the feature film “Prostokvashino”, adapted from Eduard Uspensky’s story “Uncle Fyodor, the Dog and the Cat”. A new film about the iconic heroes will be created in live action format: real actors will interact with animated characters in the frame.

The action will take place in Soviet times, as in Uspensky’s stories. “Prostokvashino” was directed by Sarik Andreasyan. He promises to pay tribute to the famous author with his tape.

“I want to reassure the audience that everything will be done in the best world-class traditions. “This story about growing up is not losing its relevance, it is of interest to absolutely everyone and we will tell it in the language of modern film,” he said.
It was previously reported that a series based on the fairy tales of Korney Chukovsky would be shot. Oleg Malovichko (“Ice”) will work on the script of the first film.
