If, like me, you’re *mildly* obsessed with cleaning, and have a TikTok account, you’ve already fallen into the spiral of #CleanTok. Behind this hashtag lies a community that has turned tidying up and cleaning into a real art (and incidentally a profitable business).
In addition to the “Sunday Reset” videos (when you film yourself doing your Sunday cleaning) and those that give tips for cleaning tile joints or an interior that smells good, you can also find them on #CleanTok tests on products presented as miraculous. We have selected five for you and we tell you (sincerely) what we think.
The Scrub Daddy sponge
The Scrub Daddy sponge (and its double-sided version Scrub Mommy) is recognizable for its bright color and above all for the shape of its smiling face. Presented on TikTok as hygienic and multifunctional, allows you to scrub surfaces without scratching them. Almost flawless for the Scrub Daddy sponge. Besides being economical, it is also puncture-proof and super effective for scrubbing without damaging. We don’t regret our old scraping sponge. Only small drawback: no composition, not really natural.
Pink Stuff pasta
With its baby pink packaging and its fruity scent, The Pink Stuff abrasive paste is the other star of the #CleanTok. According to its fans, it can clean any surface like no other product. If its texture is not very practical to apply, it has its clean composition, 99% of natural origin, as it is made up of vegetable soap, sodium bicarbonate, glycerin and quartz.
Our verdict:
It was presented to us as revolutionary for the whitening of bathtub joints. Let’s say it clearly: this is false. On the other hand he carries out the task of cleaning countertops, sinks, sinks, etc. But it’s no more effective than a less marketed (and less expensive) white vinegar product. On the other hand, The Pink Stuff paste is great for restoring the exterior of pans that have been blackened from use.
Ox gall soap

Yugou foam
Sensitive souls abstain. In videos about using Yugou foam that populate TikTok, you can see large snakes of dirty foam coming out of your sink or sink pipes. Because that's what this foam, sold in regular stores, is for: clean the pipes thoroughlywhere no sponge or brush can ever reach.

Personally I have not used Yugou foam, for ecological reasons: the composition of the product would be harmful to nature. The manufacturer also recommends not using it more than once a month, so as not to contaminate wastewater.

Our verdict:
For such a price, the pink all-purpose cleaner really does the job well. Thanks to him I managed to make an upholstered chair that my daughter had smeared with chocolate look like new again (almost), dusted the dashboard of my car and cleaned the cupboards from top to bottom. Its smell is very pleasant and once removed it leaves no greasy or sticky residue.
