New York State’s highest court overturned Harvey Weinstein’s 23-year prison sentence for rape. AP reports this.

“We conclude that the trial court incorrectly admitted evidence of allegations of previously unreported sexual conduct involving persons other than the crime complainants. “The remedy for these grave mistakes will be a new trial.”
Recall that Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison in 2020 for two crimes: rape in 2013 and forcible oral sex in 2006. Then in February 2023, he was given another 16-year sentence for the 2013 rape of actress Jane Doe. For this reason, although the case is being investigated, the producer is still detained.
