In a new interview with V Magazine, he said that 20 years ago, it was considered normal for actors to kiss on camera to test compatibility. This was called a “chemistry test.”
“They told me: “Today we have 10 men and you. Don’t you want to kiss them all?” Since I didn’t want to, I asked “Is there something wrong with me?” I thought. “I thought it sounded disgusting,” Anne recalls.
The Princess Diaries star did not reveal the names of the films in which such methods were applied. Hathaway also noted that no one was trying to hurt her. According to the actor, this is how the industry worked.
