The story of” Sambre rapist ” is not finished. Although he has already been sentenced to 20 years of criminal imprisonment for 54 rapes and sexual assaults committed over thirty years, Dino Scala is the target of new accusations.
Facts dating back to 1987
Two new reports have been notified by the courts, the Valenciennes Prosecutor’s Office announcedFrench media agency this Friday April 12th. Reports that could lead to the opening of a new judicial investigation.
The alleged facts date back to 1987, in the city of Aulnoye-Aymeries, in the North. One of the two women reported to the judicial police that she had been the victim of sexual violence, committing “a possible rapprochement with Dino Scala” after the broadcast of a report in “Sept à quatre” on TF1, but also of the series Sambre on France 2.

The second report was “recently reported by a lawyer” : the woman claims to have been “assaulted by a man in early 1987” she says she was surprised around 7 in the morning. “by a man, who had forced her, but would not have carried out the act, since she had managed to escape”the prosecutor reported.
Stories which closely resemble those of dozens of other victims sexually assaulted or raped by Dino Scala between 1988 and 2008around the Sambre river, in France and Belgium.
Dino Scala was sentenced in July 2022 to 20 years of criminal imprisonment, with two-thirds of the precautionary sentence. He was prosecuted for 56 acts, he admitted 40 and he was convicted for 54. He is also still the subject of a judicial investigation opened in March by the Valenciennes prosecutor’s office, for another series of rapes, attempted rapes and sexual assaults perpetrated between 1988 and 2009.
