Temporary agencies continue to discriminate against candidates based on their origin. According to a study published by SOS Racism this Tuesday, March 12, almost two thirds of temporary agencies discriminate in hiring, due to the ethnic origin of candidates.
In a test carried out with 152 companies, “ 61% of the temp agencies tested engaged in problematic behavior “, the anti-racism association told France Inter.
Discrimination that is slowly regressing
According to the association’s study, in 14% of cases, “spontaneously, the person on the other end of the line will tell you: yes, no problem, we will make a pre-selection for you. It’s a forbidden response “, She said Alice Murgier, legal manager of SOS Racisme. According to the study, a third of the tested agencies agree to work with a client who announces that he will sort the CVs himself. The association carried out a first test at the end of 2021, which revealed this almost half of temporary agencies have suffered discrimination during hiring. Three years later, SOS Racisme notes that the efforts are minimal, as discrimination decreases very slowly.
