The Feedback Research Center conducted a sociological study on how Russians feel about the March 8 holiday.

Women’s Day or Spring Festival?
Almost half of respondents (42%) associate March 8 with Women’s Day. At the same time, for only 23% this holiday is associated with flowers and gifts, while for another 21% it is a symbol of the arrival of spring.

Regardless of gender, 63% of Russians consider March 8 to be an important holiday, but among those surveyed there are also many (26%) who think that this day is also popular among the female population.
What is considered a symbol?
For the majority of the participants, that is, 59%, the symbol of the holiday is the tulip. In terms of polarity, the top three are mimosa (18%) and spring (18%).
Which content do you prefer?
Meanwhile, participants, including 2,000 Russian citizens aged between 14 and 64, were asked what kind of content they would like to see on March 8. 71% think congratulating the female target audience is the best option. At the same time, 31% of respondents preferred poems, songs and quotes with wise words about women.
How do you congratulate?
Gifts, it seems, are the same age-old topic because debates about what to give to a loved one are fraught. It turned out that an overwhelming majority (95%) congratulated their colleagues, classmates and classmates. Only 21% of respondents admitted that they were satisfied with verbal congratulations.
Which is more important: February 23 or March 8?
55% of respondents believe that February 23 and March 8 are equally important. 31% of respondents say these holidays cannot be compared because they are completely different. At the same time, 8% identified International Women’s Day as more important; 6% of respondents chose February 23.
