Macaulay will star in a new movie about a virus that infects the rich. The painting is titled “The Flu of the Rich,” directed by Galder Gastelu-Urrutia, who previously ran the poignant social food thriller Platform, which has become one of the most-watched original Netflix movies of 2020.
According to the plot, a new terrible virus has appeared on the planet that affects only the rich. It all starts with dozens of Forbes and then dwindles. What is an antidote? Poverty. It is also known that Daniel Brühl (“Inglorious Basterds”) and Rosamund Pike (“Con-man”) will play in the film, as well as Macaulay Culkin.
The script was written by Gastela-Urrutia, Pedro Rivero and David Desola. The film was screened at the Cannes Film Market this year and is produced by Juan de Dios Larrain and Pedro Larrain, among others. Filming will begin in the fall of 2022 and a release date has yet to be announced.
