The latest edition of the Super Bowl was not only marked by the good news brought by Beyoncé but also by the presentation of a highly anticipated trailer as it features Queen Ariana Grande. With Cinzia Erivo, winner a Grammy, a Tony and an Emmythe two artists will interpret the emblematic witches of Oz this new adaptation of the hit musical comedy that has been on Broadway since 2003 and won two Tony Awards.

Evil, what is it?
Evil is adapted from one of Broadway’s most iconic musicals. The latter is even adapted from Wizard of Oz, the 1990 novel by L. Frank Baum. This show it immerses us in Elphaba’s youth, before she grew up bad.
The latter becomes friends with Glinda (Ariana Grande) but their relationship is tormented by their clashing personalities, a romantic rivalry and their differences of opinion in the face of the corrupt government of the Wizard of Oz. While Glinda, thirsty for popularity, allows herself to be seduced by power, Elphaba’s determination to remain true to herself and those around her will have consequences as unfortunate as they are unexpected. Their adventures in the land of Oz will eventually lead them to fulfill their destiny by becoming respectively the Good and Wicked Witch of the West.
Who is in the casting?
In addition to the essential Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, we will find the Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh or even the star of Travel friends Jonathan Bailey. Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, The Moscow) will take on the role of the iconic Wizard of Oz.
Who directs Wicked?
The film is directed by director Jon M. Chu, who created the famous comedy Crazy rich Asians or the musical one Where we come from.
Wicked, when and where will it be released?
Fans of the starlet with perfect eyeliner can score November 27, 2024 on their calendar. The second part of Evil will come out for Christmas 2025. In both cases the films should be released in dark rooms.
