BTS will appear with Joe Biden at the White House to discuss anti-Asian hate crimes

K-pop group BTS is headed to the White House, intending to visit President Joe Biden to talk about anti-Asian hate crimes and celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month.

Details are unknown, but a visit from South Korean pop sensationalists will be held on Tuesday, the White House said.

“President Biden previously spoke about his commitment to fighting the escalation of anti-Asian hate crimes and signed the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act in May 2021 to provide law enforcement with the resources to identify, investigate. and expose hate crimes. “Information on hate crime is more accessible to the AA and NHPI communities,” the White House said. “President Biden and BTS also discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion and the BTS platform as youth ambassadors who spread the message of hope and positivity around the world.”

BTS partnered with UNICEF to launch Love Myself, a campaign against violence. They also represented the United Nations General Assembly.

The White House used pop culture figures to highlight a variety of social issues. Last week, Selena Gomez appeared with First Lady Jill Biden at an event aimed at raising awareness of mental health. Paris Hilton visited the White House earlier this month to speak with administration officials about her advocacy of youth protection in housing programs.
