Friday 19 January, the regional headquarters of BFMTV highlighted the dissemination of a questionnaire on the sexual practices of healthcare workers in the intensive care unit of the Édouard-Herriot hospital in Lyon. According to information disseminated by the channel, the management of the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) received on December 20 an internal complaint for acts of ” sexual harassment “ by the FA-FPH union (Autonomous Federation of the Hospital Civil Service).
“Make a little joke”
The authors of this questionnaire, also posted in some guard rooms, are none other than a small group of agents from the intensive care unit who explained that they wanted “make a little joke” AND “relax”.
“Do you practice Fellatio, Cunnilingus, Sadomasochism or do you like receiving a finger in the anus” ? These are some of the questions of the survey, the results of which would be made public on December 31st.
In a letter to the Hospices Civils de Lyon, to which BFM Lyon accessed, a service member justifies them “sexual jokes” for necessity “let someone blow” in front of “human suffering” that they face on a daily basis “supporting patients and families”.
An officer reports and is reprimanded
The FA-FPH union’s report was released following the testimony of a service agent who reported to “toxic work environment, where there is no respect or limits”. A few days after the alarm, the caregiver claims to have been attacked by colleagues. “He would have been accused of having refused to sign a plaster sculpture in the shape of a penis left by a nursing assistant of the service as well as his report relating to the aforementioned questionnaire”explains the hospital management in an email addressed to the union, consulted by BFM Lyon.
Arrested for health reasons, the carer concerned denounces her placarding BFM Lyon : “I am very anxious. My future is unclear and I am sidelined. I am not welcome because most of my colleagues are against me.”
Questioned by our colleagues, the FA-FPH union leader specified that “ For a year, posters against sexual harassment and gender violence have been removed by agents who are said to be the same authors of this type of investigation.” This small group of agents would rule the roost inside the intensive care unit.
The human resources department opened an administrative investigation.
