The film tells the story of two chefs, Eugenie and Doden, who create a real miracle in the kitchen. His dishes can impress even the best chefs from around the world. Daudin has been in love with Eugenie for a long time and wants to marry her. Now a man’s life revolves around his lover and his life’s work. He is ready to do anything to win Eugenie’s heart and change the culinary world.
The film was directed by Tran Anh Hung (“Rickshaw”, “Norwegian Wood”, “The Scent of Green Papaya”). Filming took place in the spring of 2022 at the famous Angers Castle.
The project stars Juliette Binoche and Benoit Magimel, as well as Emmanuel Salinge, Patrick d’Asumção, Galatea Bellugi, Jan Hammenecker and others. The film, which won the Best Director award at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, will compete in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 2024 Oscars.
