The Blade Runner will swap a small cell at Atteridgeville Correction Center for the luxurious multi-million pound mansion of his uncle, who has agreed to become his new “guardian” as his nephew remains on probation for a further five years.
Pistorius (37) wakes up every morning in a cottage on the house’s grounds, which overlooks picturesque acres of green spaces and 360 degree panoramic views of Pretoria. He can also take a dip in the swimming pool, which is located in a landscaped garden.
Today, the country house in the diplomatic enclave of Waterkloof was further secured by setting up roadblocks ahead of his release and arrival tomorrow.
Like most villas in the area, the terrifyingly high walls were lined with barbed wire and batteries of surveillance cameras.

The affluent suburb in which it is located has a number of palatial houses. The killer’s new neighbors include CEOs of some of South Africa’s biggest companies and diplomats from around the world.
The embassy of Trinidad and Tobago is close by, as well as several top schools and beautiful churches.
The runner will have served more than half of his thirteen year and five month prison sentence for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp – and can now look forward to a significant improvement in his living conditions.
The gun fanatic will be on parole until 2029 but must comply with a series of conditions set by Atteridgeville Correctional Services officials.
That included taking an anger management course to help him deal with the intense anger that prosecutors claimed at his trial led him to kill Reeva.

Williams-Thomas told The Times: “There is still a lot of anger and there are undoubtedly people who would love Oscar Pistorius’ scalp.”

He added that Pistorius was “never put on a pedestal in prison, on the contrary.”
The athlete was injured seven years ago by another inmate in an argument over a telephone.
And a year before, he had to be treated for wrist injuries.
Pistorius is said to have become paranoid while in prison.
Fearing that his meals would be poisoned at the behest of his underworld torturers, he said he began eating food straight from the can to ensure it was not tampered with.
And he also tried to protect himself by playing the tough guy himself, getting into fights and associating himself with famous gangsters.
Apparently he also decided to start smoking – he is now a chain smoker – because he consciously decided to look more like a fellow prisoner than a top athlete.
His paranoia began when two underworld figures publicly threatened Pistoius by appearing in the public gallery during his trial.
One of these tough men, former professional footballer Marc Batchelor, has now been shot dead in a gang attack in Johannesburg. He met Reeva on the city’s party circuit.
