Janet (Langner) DeLorenzo, who worked in daytime television for more than 30 years, died on December 30. DeLorenzo was 63 years old and no reason or location was given
DeLorenzo began her career as an intern in the early days of The Oprah Winfrey Show at ABC affiliate WLS in Chicago. She was one of the daytime show’s first employees and has worked in various positions of increasing responsibility during her 21 years at Harpo Productions, most recently as senior manager of affiliate relations.
After her tenure there, DeLorenzo helped found NBCU/Endemol’s Steve Harvey daytime show in Chicago as director of relations and promotions and served in that role for five years. She then became affiliate relations director for Pickler and Ben through the two seasons and most recently served as Director of Affiliate Marketing in a contract position for The Tamron Hall Show.
Survivors include children Jack and Chloe, their mother Patricia and their three siblings Pam, John and Tom. DeLorenzo was preceded in death by her father, George, and Peter, the father of her two children.
A memorial viewing will be held on Friday, January 5th from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, January 6th from 10:00 am to noon at the Adolf Funeral Home in Berwyn, IL.
