Sean Hannity says he moved to Florida

Sean Hannity told listeners on his radio show Tuesday that he had moved to Florida, citing New York’s tax rates as the main reason for the move.

“We’re now starting our first broadcast from my new home, which is in the Free State of Florida,” Hannity said on his iHeartRadio show. “I’m going. I’m done. I’m done in New York.”

The Fox News host said, “Finally, for the first time in my adult life, I actually have representatives in the state where I live who share my values.” He named the state’s governor, Ron DeSantis, and its two Republican senators.

Florida has no income tax. The New York state tax on income over $5 million is 10.3%.

“This exodus from blue states with high taxes, burdensome regulations, high crime and terrible school districts is real,” Hannity said.

The tax situation in New York and other major states was made worse by the 2017 tax law, a key piece of legislation signed by President Donald Trump, who also moved his residence to Florida. The 2017 bill placed limits on the amount of state and local taxes taxpayers could deduct on their federal tax returns.

Hannity has often spoken out against the Democratic governors of big blue states. He recently moderated a debate between California Gov. Gavin Newsom and DeSantis, but almost all of the questions focused negatively on the Golden State.

On his radio show, Hannity also mentioned the possibility that residents of California and New York could make restitution. “It will have no impact on me,” he said.
