WhatsApp Messenger will terminate its application on two smartphones manufactured by Apple. This is reported by WABetaInfo with reference to the company’s internal documents.

WhatsApp has planned to stop working with some versions of iOS: we are talking about the 10th and 11th versions of the operating system. It was iOS 11 that stopped updating the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C, the smartphones introduced in 2012.
Messenger is expected to stop working on these devices completely on October 24, 2022, when WhatsApp upgrades the supported iOS version to version 12. But before that, there will be an intermediate period when the app will not be able to be downloaded on iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C, but messaging will begin.
Recall that in March, Apple stopped sales in Russia, and also imposed restrictions on Apple Pay and other services.
