Holly Willoughby prepares to return to television after kidnapping plot and ‘Phillip Schofield scandal’ this morning

Holly Willoughby is set to make her return to ITV Dance on ice after a difficult year 2023.

ITV has confirmed Willoughby will host the next series of its famous skating competition series, with Stephen Mulhern replacing Phillip Schofield as co-host.

In response to Willoughby’s return to Dance on iceKatie Rawcliffe, ITV’s head of entertainment, said: “Holly and Stephen are two of our most popular presenters, so we’re bringing them back together 20 years after they first appeared as presenters together.” Dance on ice marks the start of an exciting year for the show.

Willoughby has been on hiatus from his duties since October after a man was accused of conspiring to kidnap and kill the British television star. Gavin Plumb denies the allegations.

The alleged threat followed a storm over Schofield’s relationship with a young colleague This morningas well as questions about an alleged “toxic” culture on the ITV show.

Schofield resigned This morning was disgraced in May and an independent investigation this month found that his colleagues were unaware of his relationship.
