The family of the Dublin steakhouse shooter believed to have been stabbed nearly 30 times have taken down a fundraising page for his funeral.
Tristan Sherry’s family have set up a fundraising page with the aim of raising €7,000 (£6,077) to cover funeral costs following his death in west Dublin.
The suspected gangster (26) opened fire on a 47-year-old man at around 8pm on December 24 as he dined at Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown.
Sherry was immediately ambushed and stabbed, killing him. But somehow Gardai don’t know where his machine gun is.
The fundraising page received at least 27 donations within a day of its launch, of which €550 was donated by family, friends and well-wishers, with some donations of up to €100.

Sherry’s “heartbroken” mother, Marey Hand, set up a fundraising page to raise €7,000 (around £6,077) to cover funeral costs, but it has since been taken down.
On the GoFundMe page, Mrs. Hand wrote: “Hi, my name is Marey Hand and my son was killed on Christmas Eve, his name was Tristan Sherry.
“We set this up to raise money for his funeral costs at this difficult time. “We are absolutely devastated that this has happened.
“He was known for his love of motorcycles and was loved by many. He was a wonderful son, brother, father and friend. “We can’t believe that life has to go on without him.”
But the family has since withdrawn the fundraiser, GoFundMe confirmed.
A spokesperson told MailOnline: “This fundraiser complies with terms and conditions and has been stopped by the organisers.”
“We do not allow fundraising for the legal defense of violent crimes. It is allowed to collect donations for their families to finance their funerals.”
Both Sherry and the victim – who is in critical condition – are known to police for their suspected involvement in drug-related crime. Investigators believe Sunday’s attack on the steakhouse was probably unplanned and that Sherry may have been pressured by his gang members to carry out the attack.

After the incident, the police cordoned off the area around the steakhouse

In footage, a restaurant can be heard shouting: “Someone’s going to get hit.”
The claim came as Sherry was also reported to have tried to kill a rival during the Corduff feud, a series of more than 70 incidents of arson, shootings and assaults in Ireland in 2019, according to The Irish Sun. Investigators say he fired seven shots at a car in the town of Mulhuddart.
“Sherry has been in the business for a number of years,” a source told The Irish Sun. “He was the main suspect in the Mulhuddart town shooting in 2019 and then went looking for another man on Christmas Eve. “But he was never the smartest and this shooting highlights that.”
The attacker, believed to be Sherry, burst into the restaurant, which was full of people – including young families – who all witnessed the attack.
A video shows a small child being taken out of the building by his parents.
It is understood Sherry entered with another person and targeted a man in his 40s.
A source told The Irish Sun the attack unfolded in a way that would lead to chaos.
“There is a way in and a way out. “Walking in secret and with a gun like he did in a crowded restaurant just caused total chaos,” they said.
“And it appears that after the shooting he tried to find another exit, but he couldn’t. Then he was arrested and it is clear that he himself suffered a terrible death.”
After the attack, Sherry’s accomplice allegedly fled the scene in a white Audi, reports Irish News.
It is not known whether the police have succeeded in locating the second unknown alleged attacker.
The victim was later taken to Connolly Hospital in Dublin and remains in a critical condition.
The motive for the shooting is believed to be an ongoing feud between drug gangs in Corduff, Blanchardstown and Finglas in north Dublin.
Both sides have traded attacks since 2019. Gardaí fear an all-out war between the two factions after Mr. Sherry’s death.
In 2019, Sherry was involved in an attack on a man in the village of Mulhuddart, in which seven shots were fired at a car.
Gardaí had already recognized the threat and warned the victim that his life was in danger, allowing him to escape unharmed before his own car caught fire and he refused to co-operate with the investigation.

On Christmas Day, a video was uploaded to social media that appeared to show Sherry lying in a pool of blood on the street
As a result of the shocking attack, Garda headquarters have authorized additional armed and uniformed patrols to counter any possible retaliation.
This includes the Corduff area of Blancchardstown, but it is understood that areas of Finglas, known to be strongholds of the other gangs’ leaders, will also have an increased Garda presence as a result of the attack.

In the hours after the incident, several videos of the aftermath of the event were shared on social media.
In one video, a man can be seen lying on the floor covered in blood and repeatedly kicked and hit in the head with a chair.
Other videos show people hiding under tables and screaming.
Gardaí have appealed to the public to stop sharing these videos and instead provide them with any information that could help them catch the perpetrators of the attack.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee condemned the attack, which is believed to be linked to a violent feud in west Dublin which has been responsible for numerous attacks.
“I deplore the violence in Blanchardstown,” she said.
“This cruelty has led to unimaginable human suffering this Christmas.
“That someone can commit such violence when families come together is absolutely abhorrent.”
“I am thinking of the family members, those who were on the scene and all the emergency services who are on duty tonight and over Christmas and who have to deal with this senseless violence.”
“I would urge anyone with information of any kind to contact An Garda Siochana.”

This is the second gangland killing of the year. It came after Brandon Ledwidge, in his 20s, was shot as he answered the door to his home in Finglas, north Dublin, last month.
Gardaí do not believe the two shootings are related.
They also urged people to be aware of the serious misinformation being spread on social media about the recent shooting in Dublin.

A Garda spokesman said on Monday: “Gardaí are continuing to investigate an incident which occurred at around 8pm on Sunday at a property in Main Street, Blanchardstown Dublin 15.”
“A man in his 20s was fatally injured. A second man (aged 40) is still being treated for gunshot wounds. His condition remains serious.
“A control room has been set up at Blanchardstown Garda Station. Local Gardaí are supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI).
The investigation is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and a Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been appointed to liaise with both families.
“Garda Síochána are aware of videos of the incident and the immediate aftermath circulating on social media and messaging apps. We appeal to the public not to distribute these videos further.
“We also urge the public to be aware of the significant level of speculation, misinformation and disinformation that is circulating.”
“Gardaí have increased the number of uniformed patrols in the Dublin region, with support from armed patrols including the Garda Armed Support Unit.”
“Anyone with information about this incident or who may have video footage is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any other Garda station.”
